The BCTHS Peer Tutoring Program is designed to help students seeking academic help but feel more comfortable working alongside a peer or are unable to stay for after-school tutoring.
Research indicates that peer tutoring experiences typically yield the following results for both the tutor and tutee: team-building spirit and more supportive relationships; greater psychological well-being, social competence, communication skills, and self-esteem; and higher achievement and greater productivity in terms of enhanced learning outcomes (www.nea.org).
