RE: April 12 - 75% Capacity
Dear BCTHS Students, Parents, Staff, and Community:
BCTHS will move to increase the number of students for in-person learning on Monday, April 12, 2021. ALL students will be able to attend their academic classes in-person while the school continues its every other day (hybrid) model in the technical programs (see the schedule below). A commitment survey will be sent to parents to determine how many students will choose to remain 100% virtual for academic classes. Or click here for the survey.
The rationale to move to increase more in-person learning is due to a number of factors. There are new CDC guidelines, most BCTHS staff have been vaccinated, there are stable/decreasing COVID cases in the region, and BCTHS has low numbers of COVID cases within the school (see the BCTHS COVID Dashboard). BCTHS hopes to have 100% in-person learning for all classes before June (date tbd).
All safety and health protocols will remain in place as BCTHS increases the number of students in the building. Everyone should remain at least 3 feet apart whenever possible, including in the hallways and cafeteria. Students will be approximately 4½ - 5 feet apart while eating and they will be allowed to eat outside, weather permitting. Masks must be worn at all times except while eating. All classes and areas in the building have hand sanitizer for student use. We will also continue staggered dismissals for students.
Notification of COVID
Remember to notify BCTHS (Nurses@bcths.com) if your child has COVID symptoms and/or is being tested for COVID. Our nurses have been doing an incredible job with managing this pandemic but it is critical to let them know if your child has COVID or COVID symptoms.
Please continue to wear masks, stay socially distant, wash hands, and get vaccinated as soon as possible. Thank you.
Leon Poeske, Ed.D.
